Kixott Movie Nights: The Triplets of Belleville

Oozing charm and riotous imagination in each of its lusciously animated frames, Sylvain Chomet’s animated adventure casts a spell that will have you humming and buzzing long after the credits have rolled.
The jazzy, rollicking adventure is largely free of dialogue but rich in unforgettable, quirky incident, as an elderly lady presses on to rescue her cyclist grandson from the clutches of the French mafia, aided along by her obese dog Bruno (who secured the film its ‘Palm Dog’ award at the Cannes Film Festival) and the titular triplets – dance hall singers from the Fredasterian heyday.
Few films would be as conducive to the Kixott vibe as this one, which is all the more reason to come over and enjoy it while spiced with some of our signature concoctions.
