Kixoween Movie Nights: The Cabinet of Dr Caligari

Nothing like a German Expressionist masterwork to kick off the spooky season… and on film, no less!
Kixott is proud (and super, super happy) to present The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, on glorious film reels as god (once) intended, courtesy of our own in-house silent film collector Malcolm Demicoli.
Come experience what Roger Ebert called “the first true horror film”, as Robert Weine’s 1920 classic silent feature takes you down a dark psychic corrior that has gone on to influence the likes of David Bowie, Tim Burton and many, many others.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! Ahead of the main event, Malcolm will also be regaling us with two short — and equally chilling — film from the silent era: Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923, dir. Wallace Worsley; 8 mins) and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920, dir. John S. Robertson; 8 mins).
So snuggle up with your favourite Kixott cocktail for a haunted house ride that has well and truly stood the test of time!
